Questions about Hospice Care

Hospice care is often misunderstood. While its focus is the final months of life, it exists to help people and their families live well until death comes. This means their job is to reduce pain and suffering and to optimize what daily life can be. Having a skilled team of clinicians at the ready to tend to peace and comfort means less stress for everyone involved.

There are, of course, trade-offs to electing hospice that need explaining. Certain types of treatment may no longer be available to you, for example. In fact, we know that most people wait far too long to engage hospice and reap its benefits, so don’t be shy about inquiring. It may end up being just the right thing at just the right time.

Mettle Health can walk you through what to expect when you sign up for hospice, what questions to ask before you enroll, and how the service works.
