Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness month

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness month and to bring attention to this we’d like to offer a couple reframes on how we think about dementia.

There’s no way to sugar-coat it, neurological disorders are incredibly difficult to cope with. For most of us, we think about what dementia takes away from us, but a teeny reframe is to think of it as learning a new language. A new way of being.

We know a single reframe can’t make everything better, but it might help open to the door to a new way of thinking about this disease.

Are you or someone you’re caring for dealing with Alzheimer’s? What’s your experience with "learning a new language”?
