Recognizing and accepting

BRRRRRRRRRR, puppies it’s cold outside!

And cold means it’s time to accept winter for what it is — colder and darker.

Many of us might try to pretend nothing has changed when daylight ends earlier. We have to keep the same work and personal schedules and feel frustrated when we’re feeling tired, not considering how daylight truly influences our mammalian circadian rhythms and sleep patterns.

As with many things at Mettle, we’re all about recognizing and accepting, making room for it. Maybe we can see the darker season as an opportunity to lean in to rest, stay cozy, eat lots of casseroles, go to bed earlier and, when possible, sleep longer.

Here’s wishing you a wonderful period of darkness🐾
