The Sound of Grief (Copy)

How does music accompany us through life? Where can it amplify our emotions? Where can it helps us through difficult periods? How does it punctuate our memories? Where does it change to accommodate our new persona after a loss?

This is beautiful essay on realities of loss too soon, love and how music plays a role in the stories of our lives.

Please note, this is on the sudden loss of an infant. We say that because it can be hard to read stories on this type of loss; it goes against how we think about death, but validating and witnessing these losses and deaths is important.

What is the sound of your grief? Are there musical moments that linger for you? Songs that bring you back to a certain moment? Or songs that bring you back to grief and remembrance? We’d love to hear them.
