What the heck is Swedish Death Cleaning?

We have been fans of all things Swedish Death Cleaning since first hearing about it while writing A Beginner’s Guide to the End and love to see it now in a new format: streaming!

What the heck is Swedish Death Cleaning? you might ask. Döstädning is the process of organizing, decluttering, and giving away your belongings "when you think the time is coming closer for you to leave the planet."

Many of us may already understand how and why this could be an important shift in our culture; instead of leaving an entire home and 2 storage units to clean out, one gets rid of items beforehand, giving our survivors less junk (no offense! we all have it) to wade through and more time to think and feel and grieve. Not to mention this lets one take control of an aspect of life when many things may seem out of control!

We’re very excited to see the reactions to The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning! Have you watched it? Did it help you think about how you might manage your own belongings when the time comes?
