We are not one-dimensional

If you’re a human being, you know that we are not one-dimensional. (We literally can’t even think of how life would look if we were, beige we assume?)

So if we’re NOT one-dimensional, why should our care be through just one lens of illness?

That’s why we think care should come from many perspectives. In the traditional sense, this means addressing someone’s physical, social, practical and spiritual needs, but it also means looking at the suffering from many angles. What does it look like from the partner’s perspective, the patient’s perspective or the caregiver’s perspective? What does it look like from a bird’s eye view where everything in one's ecosystem is taken into account? What does it look like when someone’s family history and relationships are part of the conversation?

We are not born into a vacuum, we accumulate experiences along the way that shape who we are. That’s what Mettle aims to do, take all that that context into account when supporting people going through illness, end of life or grief.

We’re multidimensional, so let’s celebrate and work with that.
