Slow life down, do you
2 important messages here:
1. Slow down.
Another version of “smell the roses”. Take a moment to look the lace patterns on a leaf, or just flaneur around for a while and notice all the things that make up life around you: the toddler learning to walk, someone wearing a gorgeous colored sweater, an older couple walking slowly together. We’re not saying 24/7, that might be impossible, (all those errands aren’t going to do themselves), but every so often it’s a nice break to have no purpose other than to observe and be.
2. Do you.
Seems like an easy thing to say, like what else would I do? But it’s not always so easy. We mean act in a way that feels most genuine to you on a daily basis in order to minimize regrets later on. Don’t want to go to that event cause you are just burnt out, but afraid it might hurt feelings? Or maybe you want to wear a ball gown to go grocery shop? We encourage both.
We have to believe that making extra space for ourselves to slow down every so often and putting effort into making sure we feel like the best version of ourselves can only lead to feeling like we’re living a good life. (And that’s your definition of a good life! Not someone else’s, see #2)
