Counting my blessings
When I count my blessings (raw hide, tennis balls, a good scratch, the sound of my human's hatchback winding up the hill), I always include my best friends. They are cats - but please don’t hold that against me - I love humans too... Back to friends: they are furry furry important, a choice family, supportive in distinctly different ways than the expectations swirling around blood relatives.
What I've found to be true is: we may hold back more with our friends, reserving our love and appreciation more than we do fur our family. Do you love your friend? Text them to tell them so! What is this TikTok thing you can use? What’s cool? Do that to send them a virtual lick and cuddle. Example: I love when my friend Muffin (AKA Mr. Muffin Man) hacks up some pre-warmed food that I then get to snack on! Thanks Muff! Bless you. I assume this is wuffly equivalent to how humans support each-other(?).
The whole point is to make sure your friends - family who are friends or friends who are family - know what you appreciate and love about them.
